NO DEAL!

I think it would be nice to get rich without having to work for it. Peter seems to think that that is a good idea too. Together we decided to pursue this dream by going to a casting call for the television game show, 'Deal or no Deal' in Folsom. Here's our story.

This is only a fraction of the line

These are some of the awesome people waiting in line.

Peter even saw one of his students there, Paul wants to be rich just like everyone else.

Alas, the wait in line was expected to be between 15 and 18 hours long, all for a 15 second chance to make an impression. We decided that sushi was a better option.

You know, normally I'd be highly upset with the No-Deal aspect of this story. Why(?) you ask. Well, because I'm a strong believer in the notion that the tenacity and ability to endure that climbing inspires in many climbers, including you and Nasty-Pete, is transferable to realms beyond the climbing world. Naturally included among said realms would, in theory, be waiting in line to be on "Deal or No Deal." But, alas(!), utter failure brought on by, (dare I say it), *quitting* the line. UGH!

But then I sat back and pondered some more. Well, really I didn't, but you understand. And I forgave the momentary lack of discipline and drive in the one instance, because it was clear that such strengths immediately pointed you in the direction of the mouth-orgasm called sushi dinner. Yes, I just said mouth-orgasm. But that's another story. So let's not get distracted from the point, being, if you don't eat more than $25 worth of mouth-orgasm (aka sushi), then you truly waste your time.

I'm with Caitie; I still have the dream of my son buying me the home in Hanalei that he and the family can visit anytime. Maybe lottery tickets?
